Presentation Title Submission
We are now accepting titles for potential talks at the Cork meeting. You are able to submit titles until January 15, 2010. You will be notified of acceptance of your presentation by February 1, after which time you will be required to submit a formal 5-6 page extended abstract. A book of the extended abstracts will be published by Springer, one of the world’s leading scientific publishers, several months after the meeting. (Submission of a title does not require a full abstract at this point, and the title may be withdrawn at a later time by contacting the organizers.)
Submission of a title is a TWO-Stage process.
First, if you have not already indicated your interest in attending the meeting, please go to our Expression of Interest page and enter your information. This does not, of course, obligate you to the meeting, but ensures you get future emails about the meeting.
Second, to submit your title and other information, click here for our title input page. (Please carefully note the instructions on the page, and fill out all of the requested information).
DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR TITLE. However, we will send out note to all people who submitted titles by January 23. If you do not receive an acknowledgement that we have your title(s), please contact Dr. Popper right away.
IF, WHEN YOU LINK TO SUBMIT YOUR TITLE, YOU GET A PAGE THAT SAYS “SURVEY MONKEY” RATHER THAN THE SUBMISSION PAGE PLEASE TRY A DIFFERENT COMPUTER OR USE A DIFFERENT BROWSER. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK PLEASE CONTACT TRIONA OR DR. POPPER AND WE WILL ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. WE APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE IF YOU ENCOUNTER THIS ISSUE, BUT IT ARISES FROM A SOURCE THAT WE DO NOT CONTROL.
Please note: No more than one presentation can be submitted for any single computer (this is due to the data gathering site and nothing we can fix). So, if you want to submit a second title, please do from a different computer.
Our hope is to accommodate everyone who wants to submit a paper for the meeting. Please do note that we will not have concurrent sessions for oral presentations and so we have only a limited number of places for talks (not having concurrent sessions was one of the things most appreciated by participants at Nyborg). Thus, while we very much appreciate that many participants prefer to give oral presentations, these will, by necessity, be limited in number. Our goal, in selecting papers for oral presentation will be to have a rounded series of talks that highlight some of the major over riding points about effects of noise on aquatic animals, and that present new data directly germane to the themes of the meeting.
If you have any questions about your potential presentation you can include it in the input page or drop an email to Tony Hawkins.
